-Explain why that research idea captures your interest.
-Describe any previous experience that has specifically prepared you for graduate research.

We want to get to know you and give you an opportunity to provide additional context that may not be captured in other parts of this application. With those goals in mind, please give us an example (academic or otherwise) of a time in which you overcame a barrier to your academic or personal success. Explain how that experience might help you in achieving your personal and/or professional goals.
