Passionate about health and wellness? Interested in educating your peers about leading healthier lives in college and beyond? See yourself as a student leader? Then join our team! Matadors4Wellness Peer Health Educators are trained to provide educational programs on stress reduction, sleep improvement, alcohol tobacco and other drugs, sexual health, healthy eating, and overall wellness. All majors are welcome to apply.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct health & wellness workshops for classes, clubs and organizations. Workshops are provided both in person and through zoom.
  • Participate in outreach and social media activities.
  • Promote all services provided by the Klotz Student Health Center (KSCH), as listed here: List of KSHC Services
  • Educate the campus community about campus wellness resources.
  • Provide input and support on various projects at the KSHC.

What you’ll gain as a Peer Health Educator:

  • Priority registration (for Spring 2027 and Fall 2027)
  • Certified Peer Educator (CPE) certification
  • Presentation and public speaking skills
  • In-depth knowledge on college health issues
  • A supportive community of fellow peer educators and Klotz Health Promotion staff members
  • Opportunity to become a campus leader through peer education and mentorship

Time Commitment:

  • 4hrs/week; 1-year commitment (Fall 2026 + Spring 2027)
  • Mandatory 4-day training August 10-13, 2026.
  • Mandatory team meetings once a week during the Fall/Spring semester (Wednesdays 3-4pm)
